Class of 1960 John Heinz Government Service Fellowships Application Deadline

Event time:
Wednesday, March 3, 2021 - 1:00pm
Event description:

The Class of 1960 established the John Heinz Government Service Fellowship to honor the achievements of the late Senator John Heinz and to foster the spirit of public service he exemplified.

The fellowship is open to all sophomores and juniors in Yale College who demonstrate that their intellectual or personal development would be significantly enhanced by a government service internship in a federal, state, or local department or agency of the United States government in the U.S.A or overseas during the summer following their sophomore or junior year. A service internship with a private entity funded by government would not be eligible for this competition. Please see here for an index of United States government departments and agencies.

Application for this fellowship is via the CIPE Summer Fellowships Common Application.

Fellowship proposals will be evaluated for their connection with the candidate’s previous educational and work-related experience, and future goals in government service.

Please note that fellowship funds are meant to cover the costs of the proposed activity only. Budgets should not include compensation for lost income.

Minimum duration: 8 weeks. Projects of shorter duration will not be considered. The proposed project must be a full-time commitment and be the primary activity for the duration of the fellowship.
