Event description:

All History of Art majors are invited to attend a History of Art Faculty Panel with Professors Jung, Ngan, Rizvi, Fiduccia, and Gaifman.

Faculty who will be teaching courses next semester will provide the majors with a closer connection to the faculty, help provide a better sense of some courses next semester, and ease some of the anxiety of new preregistration procedures.

Sheyenne Tichnell ‘22 will begin the panel with a 40-minute segment in which the professors describe how they became interested in their specific field or art history as a whole and then talk about why they wanted to teach a course on that particular topic.  After this overview we will group the faculty into pairs and assign students to one of 3 breakout rooms.  In the breakout rooms, students can ask additional questions in a smaller group setting.  Each pair would offer different geographical or temporal perspectives, thereby subtly pushing students outside of their art historical comfort zone.

If you are interested in attending, please contact Professor Edward Cooke, the DUS for the History of Art, at edward.cooke@yale.edu to receive a Zoom invitation.
