Event description: 

All students are invited to join School of Architecture Professors Joyce Hsiang (DUS) and Elihu Rubin to learn more about the curriculum, requirements and declaration of intent process for the major in Urban Studies.

Light refreshments will be served.

The Urban Studies major is an interdisciplinary field grounded in the study of the physical and social spaces of the city and the larger built environment. It is designed to prepare students for fields related to urban planning, design and development. The courses are organized around surveys, methods and electives drawn from different departments across the University.

You will need to submit the following information via the survey link above:

1.  Complete the Intent to Major in Urban Studies Survey.

2.  Provide a statement of intent (not to exceed 300 words). Text may be copied and pasted into the survey.

3.  Provide a writing sample from a Yale College class (5/10 pager, attached to the survey). Preferably in or relevant to the Urban Studies or Architecture Department, but it can be taken from another course.

4.  Provide a copy of your Yale College Academic Record (attach to the survey). Unofficial copies of your College Academic Record are acceptable.
