From the University Registrar (December 13, 2016)

Dear Yale College Student,

As you look ahead to your spring-term course selections, keep in mind that some courses require action from you before the term begins. For spring 2017, you will find a list of courses that manage enrollment in advance of the term on the Preference Selection, Preregistration, and Applications Web page. Visit this page in December to determine whether you need to act before the start of classes to enroll in any of your courses.

Preregistration sites for many departments are open now and will remain open until early January. The Preference Selection, Preregistration, and Applications page includes the dates by which applications or preferences must be submitted. Results for most courses will be communicated by Friday, January 13, in time for the first day of classes on Tuesday, January 17.

The preregistration page captures the majority of Web-based course enrollment systems. Some courses that require preregistration may not appear on this page because they use a paper form or other selection system. Check departmental websites for details about particular enrollment procedures.

Online Course Selection (OCS) will open for Spring 2017 on Wednesday, January 11, at 9 a.m. Preliminary schedules containing at least three full-credit courses must be entered into OCS by Monday, January 16.

Best wishes for the end of term.
