Between June 17-August 15, 2025, incoming first-year students will be required to schedule a 15” virtual meeting with peer adviser through Yale College’s summer peer advising program for the Class of 2029.
The peer advising team is comprised of newly graduated, highly trained, and experienced seniors who served as first-year counselors (“FroCos”) during the 2024-2025 academic year.
The summer peer advisers are available to answer your questions about distributional requirements, crafting a balanced course schedule, majors and certificates in Yale College, tutoring, other academic matters, and residential college life.
Then, once you arrive on campus on August 17, you’ll be connected to in-person advising from your academic-year advisers, including your own FroCo, assigned to you by your residential college; the head and dean of your residential college; your college advisor, assigned to you by you residential college dean, faculty members, resource office staff, to and others

Advising during the Academic Year
Students in the Class of 2029 also will have continued opportunities to receive guidance and advice once they arrive on campus in late August and during the academic year. Many of these opportunities officially begin on move-in day and are spelled out elsewhere on this website (college advisers, the Academic Fair, residential college deans, first-year counselors, directors of undergraduate studies, and more.

The summer peer advisers in the program are recently graduated seniors who served as 2024-2025 first-year counselors (“FroCos”) in their residential colleges. They are also supported by members of the Yale College Dean’s Office.
